Business Support for Pharaoh: King of Egypt
What do a construction firm, a law firm and a 3000 year old Egyptian statue of Ramses II have in common? – Answer: They are all appearing in the Dorset County Museum over the next few months.
Acheson Construction Ltd and Humphries Kirk Solicitors have pooled their resources to support Dr. Jon Murden, Director and his team at the Museum in putting on the Pharaoh: King of Egypt Exhibition.
The Exhibition which is part of the British Museum’s travelling collection is something of a coup for Dorchester’s highly popular local museum’.
Jon Murden said, “We have been very fortunate that the British Museum (BM) have liked the work that we have done recently and have placed a great deal of faith in us in being able to put on a great show, not only for Dorset, but the surrounding counties. Part of the reason the BM have shown such faith is due to our engagement with, and having the support of, a number of local businesses to whom we are extremely grateful”.
The Exhibition includes over 130 amazing objects, many of which have never been seen outside of London; from a giant royal tomb guardian from the Valley of the Kings, to the intricate Atum gold plaque. Some of the oldest objects are over 3,500 years old. A whole programme of ancient Egyptian themed events will also be taking place over the autumn and winter.
Rob Acheson of Acheson Construction said, “It is essential that the business world support cultural activity within the community and this world class exhibition gives ourselves and Humphries Kirk the perfect opportunity to do this”.
