Humphries Kirk - Going that extra 220 miles!

cycle challenge grpHumphries Kirk staff went more than the extra mile recently as a number of staff took up the “Around the World in 8 Days - Cycle Challenge” on static bikes at the East Dorset Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in aid of local cancer charities.

As the name suggests, the aim of the event was to be part of a challenge to cycle around the world in 8 days and raise money for the Dorset Cancer Centre, Breast Cancer Care and Cancer Research.

The event was the brain child of breast cancer sufferer Karen Adams and has to date raised over £60,000.

Emma Webster, head of the Development Sales property team at Humphries Kirk said, “It’s been a great event and one which everyone has thoroughly enjoyed. Whilst most of us were only here for an hour, the team managed to get through some 220 miles which was a great achievement raising over £700 in the process.”

Overall the event exceeded expectations with cyclists blitzing the 8 day target getting around the world in a record time of 5 days, 6 hours and 22 minutes.
