Law Firm plays part in pioneering Solar Project

jsb solar powerstationRenewable energy has been in the news of late with the recent launch of a Solar Power Station at Slepe Farm just outside Poole.

Local law firm Humphries Kirk solicitors is proud to have played a part in the projects completion. Not only was the project located on the farm of Humphries Kirk Senior Partner James Selby Bennett but the legal work surrounding the application of land was also pioneered by the firm.

Lead solicitor on the project, Associate Leigh Bartlett said, “This was a challenging project with numerous vested interests and a very tight deadline in order to ensure that the project was able to take advantage of government subsidies. We were thrilled to have developed and completed the legal documentation thereby helping to ensure the projects success”.

With the legal work taken care of, the project owes much of it’s on site success, to the close collaboration of a number of south coast firms and of course the land owner. Farm Power who operate the Power Station, Anesco who designed and built the solar array and Dimplex who supplied the photovoltaic technology.

James Selby Bennett said, “We hope that this installation will prove to be an example of good practice and we are fortunate in the south to have some of the best operators in the renewable technology industry. This project is discreet, invisible from the public, silent and unobtrusive and best of all pollution free. One of the great things from an organic farm perspective is the fact that the field, far from being covered in glass, is still in use and working in harmony with the solar power station.”
