Residential Land Lawyer – Full time – Parkstone

Seeking a full time Residential Land Lawyer to be based in the Land Department at our Parkstone office.

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer with extensive overall working knowledge of residential land law. However, a non-qualified, highly skilled Land Lawyer with the relevant knowledge gained through experience may also be considered. Knowledge of commercial land law would also be advantageous.

The position will involve managing a full caseload of residential land law matters from instruction to post-completion, without ongoing supervision. There are excellent opportunities to grow the practice, and potential for career progression for the right candidate. The main duties are set out in the job description.

The successful candidate will be a 5+ years’ PQE Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer, with extensive overall working knowledge of Residential Property Law. Company Commercial Solicitor – 4 years+ PQE – Poole/Dorchester

We are seeking a full time Company Commercial Solicitor to work out of both our Dorchester and Poole offices.

The successful candidate will be a Solicitor with 4+ years PQE, who has proven experience of corporate transactions work and a willingness to further develop their skills within company/commercial law.

The role will involve working within a busy team on a very wide range of company /commercial work, which may include: company and business sales and purchases, contract drafting and negotiation (covering all types of contracts including Terms & Conditions of Sale/ Purchase; Supply/ Distribution/ Agency /Franchise agreements etc.), private equity/ investment documentation and other corporate finance related transactions; Shareholders Agreements and disputes, share capital restructuring; employee share option and other incentive schemes; business start-ups, business succession planning; education sector work including academy conversions and multi-academy trusts.

We are seeking a 5yr+ PQE Qualified Commercial Property Lawyer (Solicitor preferred) to be based in the Commercial Land & Property Department at our Dorchester office. 

The successful candidate will be 5+ years’ PQE or have the equivalent experience with good overall working knowledge of Commercial Property and Land Law, including Landlord and Tenant law and Enfranchisement law.

Legal Secretary – Commercial – Dorchester (Fixed Term Contract)

We are seeking a Legal Secretary on a Fixed Term Contract for up to 18 months, to support the Lawyers in the Company Commercial team at our Dorchester office. The role will be full time ideally, but part-time may be considered (minimum of 3 days per week).

Suitable candidates will have good overall secretarial skills obtained within private practice, with a minimum of 6 month’s experience working within Commercial or Corporate law or similar. Candidates must have an accurate typing speed of 60 WPM+. Working knowledge of Case Management systems is highly desirable. The main duties are set out in the job description.

Legal Secretary – Land – Dorchester

Seeking a full-time Legal Secretary to be based in the Land Department at our Dorchester office.

This role will ideally suit a skilled legal secretary with good overall secretarial knowledge of conveyancing procedures from instruction to post-completion, however, legal secretaries with fast typing skills and experience within another discipline of law who have the willingness and desire to cross-train may also be considered. Trainee Solicitor

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2020 Training Contract, however, we are currently taking applications for the 2021 and 2022 intake. When sending your application, please apply by email if possible and specify your preferred year of commencement in the subject header.

Trainee Solicitors also provide a valuable resource to our busy Firm, therefore, candidates must be prepared to undertake a wide range of tasks and go the extra mile in preparation and recognition of the fact that this is a profession that is going to require an incredibly high degree of dedication, tenacity, flexibility and hard work. Desirable traits will include; good communication skills, strong academic skills and a good work ethic. Ties to the region are desirable but not a pre-requisite. Please note that Training Contracts are normally only offered on a full-time basis.

Candidate Eligibility: In order to apply, you will have completed your law degree or be able to verify predicted results.  Candidates will normally have been accepted onto an LPC before applying, but in any event, it is a condition that all appointed Trainees must have successfully completed the LPC prior to commencement of the Training Contract. If you have taken an alternative route to qualification, you will be required to supply appropriate details and qualification results.
