Qualified Family Lawyer – Poole

We are seeking a full-time Qualified Family Lawyer at our Poole (Tower Park) office. There may be a requirement to work from our Wareham and Dorchester offices on occasion.

The role would suit a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive who has previous experience of running a varied caseload of family matters. Candidates must have good advocacy skills and sound working knowledge of financial matrimonial matters (rather than children work) as well as Property Disputes (Trust of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act). The main duties are set out in the job description.

Whilst 2 years’ PQE is desired, candidates without this who possess the required competencies may be considered.

5yr+ PQE Qualified Commercial Property Lawyer – Commercial Land & Property – Poole

We are now looking for a 5yr+ PQE Qualified Commercial Property Lawyer to be based in the Commercial Land & Property Department at our Poole (Tower Park) office.

This role would allow for an existing Commercial Property Land Lawyer to utilise a broad range of current skills. Furthermore, there is a great opportunity for career enhancement going forwards for the right candidate.  The position will involve managing a full caseload from instruction to post-completion. Commercial Solicitor (+5 years PQE) – Full Time – Dorchester & Poole

We currently have a full time requirement for a Commercial Solicitor within the Commercial Department who is willing to work out of both the Dorchester and Poole offices.

The position will involve working within a busy team of lawyers and support staff, on a range of company /commercial work, which may include: company and business sales and purchases, contract drafting and negotiation (covering all types of contracts including Terms & Conditions of Sale/ Purchase; Supply/ Distribution/ Agency /Franchise agreements etc), private equity/ investment documentation and other corporate finance related transactions.

This role will suit a Solicitor with 5+ years PQE, who has proven experience of corporate transactions work and a willingness to further develop their skills within company/commercial law.

The position offers a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a variety of company/ commercial work with the delivery of a wide range of services to clients in the local area, as well as nationally and internationally.  A willingness to travel is required (expenses paid).

Float Legal Secretary – Full time – Various offices

We are now looking for a full-time Float Legal Secretary to work across multiple offices and disciplines within the firm.

The role will suit a skilled legal secretary who enjoys the variety of working in varying aspects of law. Candidates should have strong legal secretarial skills gained within Private Practice in one or more of the following disciplines; Land law, Private Client, Commercial, Family, Litigation. Skills in land law would be highly beneficial. Candidates must have their own transport and be willing to travel to our Dorchester, Crewkerne, Swanage and Wareham offices. Mileage will be paid. Legal Secretary – Family – Poole

We are now looking for a full-time Legal Secretary to be based in the Family Department at our Poole office.

This role would ideally suit a Legal Secretary with previous experience gained in private practice, who has a keen interest in Family Law. Previous experience within Family Law is desirable but not essential, but candidates must have a fast and accurate typing speed of 60WPM+.

The role involves audio typing of documents, keeping records, managing filing systems, opening and closing of files and providing general secretarial support to the Family Lawyers. The main duties are set out in the job description.

I.T. Support Assistant (First Line Technical Support) – Full time – Wareham based with travel required

We currently have a permanent requirement for a full time I.T. Support Assistant (First Line Technical Support) to join the firm. The role will be based in Wareham but travel to the firm’s other offices will also be required to meet the needs of the business, therefore candidates must have their own car.

Responsibilities will include taking initial calls from users, troubleshooting and solving hardware and software I.T. issues both on the phone and face to face, as well as liaising with third party providers. Whilst supervision is close at hand, the desired candidate will already have the skills and competencies to undertake this role with minimal guidance on a day to day basis. Due to the highly regulated profession in which we work, confidentiality, diplomacy and professionalism are of paramount importance.

We currently have a requirement for a full time Office Admin Assistant (Apprentice) to be based our Bournemouth (Southbourne) office on a 1 year fixed term Apprenticeship.

This role would ideally suit candidates who possess the basic skills required to work within a professional office environment. Some previous office/ admin experience is desirable but not essential as training can be given, however candidates must be conscientious and reliable with a professional demeanour and possess excellent communication skills including a good telephone manner.  An eye for detail is also essential as is a keen interest in helping colleagues to achieve common goals.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Admin Level 2 qualification via an appropriate training provider sourced by the Firm.

Candidates should be aware that the role will involve a degree of light lifting and carrying (i.e. files) and regular use of stairs.  There may also be daily shopping and postal duties that will involve leaving the office for short periods of time as needed.

Trainee Solicitor

Applications for 2018 Training Contracts are now closed. We are currently taking applications for the 2019 and 2020 intake. When sending your application, please apply by email if possible and specify your preferred year of commencement in the subject header.

What we look for: We recognise the importance of contributing to the next generation of Solicitors and as a leading local law firm, we are proud to offer excellent training and support. Trainee Solicitors also provide a valuable resource to our busy Firm, therefore, candidates must be prepared to undertake a wide range of tasks and go the extra mile in preparation and recognition of the fact that this is a profession that is going to require an incredibly high degree of dedication, tenacity, flexibility and hard work. Desirable traits will include; good communication skills, strong academic skills and a good work ethic. Ties to the region are desirable but not a pre-requisite. Please note that Training Contracts are normally only offered on a full-time basis.

Candidate Eligibility: In order to apply, you will have completed your law degree or be able to verify predicted results.  Candidates will normally have been accepted onto an LPC before applying, but in any event, it is a condition that all appointed Trainees must have successfully completed the LPC prior to commencement of the Training Contract.
