Company Commercial Solicitor – 4 years+ PQE – Poole/Dorchester

We are seeking a full-time 5yr+ PQE Qualified Commercial Property Lawyer (Solicitor preferred) to be based in the Commercial Land & Property Department at our Dorchester office.

The successful candidate will be a Solicitor with 4+ years PQE, who has proven experience of corporate transactions work and a willingness to further develop their skills within company/commercial law.

The role will involve working within a busy team on a very wide range of company /commercial work, which may include: company and business sales and purchases, contract drafting and negotiation (covering all types of contracts including Terms & Conditions of Sale/ Purchase; Supply/ Distribution/ Agency /Franchise agreements etc.), private equity/ investment documentation and other corporate finance related transactions; Shareholders Agreements and disputes, share capital restructuring; employee share option and other incentive schemes; business start-ups, business succession planning; education sector work including academy conversions and multi-academy trusts.

5yr+ PQE Commercial Property Solicitor – Commercial Land & Property – Dorchester

We are seeking a 5yr+ PQE Qualified Commercial Property Lawyer (Solicitor preferred) to be based in the Commercial Land & Property Department at our Dorchester office. 

The successful candidate will be 5+ years’ PQE or have the equivalent experience with good overall working knowledge of Commercial Property and Land Law, including Landlord and Tenant law and Enfranchisement law.

The position will involve working alongside two highly experienced Partners, managing a full caseload from instruction to post-completion.  There are excellent opportunities for career progression for the right candidate.

Legal Secretary – Land – Dorchester

Humphries Kirk seeking a full time Legal Secretary to be based in the Land Department at our Dorchester office.

This role will ideally suit a skilled legal secretary with good overall secretarial knowledge of conveyancing procedures from instruction to post completion, however, legal secretaries with fast typing skills and experience within another discipline of law who have the willingness and desire to cross-train may also be considered. Receptionist/ Admin Assistant – Admin – Wareham (1 year fixed term contract)

We are now looking for a full-time Receptionist/Admin Assistant to be based in the Admin Department at our Wareham office on a one year Fixed Term Contract

This role would ideally suit candidates who have previous reception experience that has been gained within a professional services environment, ideally in a law firm or similar setting. This is a busy role that will involve call handling, greeting clients and undertaking a variety of reception and admin support tasks in line with specific policy and procedure. The provision of a high standard of service to clients and colleagues is paramount.

Legal Secretary – Private Client – Swanage

We currently have a requirement for a full time Legal Secretary to join the Private Client Department at our Swanage office. Suitable candidates will have good overall secretarial skills obtained within Private Practice. Recent and relevant private client knowledge gained at a support level is also preferable, but consideration will also be given to candidates seeking to train into Private Client from another area of law. Applicants must have an accurate typing speed of 60 WPM+. A working knowledge of case management systems and digital dictation software is highly desirable.

Legal Admin Apprenticeship (18 month fixed Term Contract) – Southbourne

We are offering the opportunity for a suitable individual to undertake a Legal Admin Apprenticeship based within the Land Department at our Bournemouth (Southbourne) office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to kick start a legal career in an entry-level role and obtain a legal Apprenticeship over an 18 month fixed term contract period. The successful candidate will be required to complete a level 3 Legal Admin qualification via an appropriate training provider sourced by the Firm. Some home study will be required.

The role consists of opening and closing files, preparing documentation and assisting with general admin to support the Land Law team. Specific knowledge or qualifications relating to Land Law are not required, however, candidates must have the willingness and genuine interest to learn about it and be happy to work within a support role.

Office Admin Assistant Apprentice (1 year fixed Term) – Crewkerne

We currently have a requirement for a full-time Office Admin Assistant (Apprentice) to be based at our Crewkerne office on a 1-year fixed-term Apprenticeship.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop admin and reception skills in a highly professional environment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Business Admin Level 2 qualification via an appropriate training provider sourced by the Firm.

Candidates should be aware that the role will involve a degree of light lifting and carrying (i.e. files) and regular use of stairs. There may also be daily shopping and postal duties that will involve leaving the office for short periods of time as needed.

Trainee Solicitor

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2020 Training Contract, however, we are currently taking applications for the 2021 and 2022 intake. When sending your application, please apply by email if possible and specify your preferred year of commencement in the subject header.

Desirable traits will include; good communication skills, strong academic skills and a good work ethic. Ties to the region are desirable but not a pre-requisite. Please note that Training Contracts are normally only offered on a full-time basis.

Candidate Eligibility: In order to apply, you will have completed your law degree or be able to verify predicted results.  Candidates will normally have been accepted onto an LPC before applying, but in any event, it is a condition that all appointed Trainees must have successfully completed the LPC prior to commencement of the Training Contract.
