Humphries Kirk collects and delivers vital donations for Dorset foodbanks

| Published on July 29, 2015

Employees at Dorset and Somerset solicitors firm Humphries Kirk donated hundreds of food items to the Bournemouth and Poole Foodbank in a fundraising drive last month. This is the second time the law firm have participated in the initiative, having been nominated by the Bournemouth Junior Lawyers Division.

Trainee solicitors Laura Edwards and James Dyche, who is also on the Junior Lawyers Division Committee, orchestrated the collection, encouraging fellow employees and neighbouring businesses to donate non-perishable, in-date food items to be shared equally between the Bournemouth and Poole foodbanks.

Staff in Wareham, Dorchester, Bournemouth, Crewkerne, Swanage and Parkstone participated in the scheme, which supports almost half a million people in crisis by providing emergency food and support to those in need.

James Dyche, commented: “It’s been great to see the generosity of my colleagues and other businesses nearby to our offices. Incidentally, one of the food bank managers told me that ours was one of its best collections.

There is a desperate need for donations to the Poole and Bournemouth Foodbanks. As a local person, and a trainee solicitor at Humphries Kirk, a firm which actively supports local community groups and charities, it made sense to participate in this year-long initiative again.”

Humphries Kirk provides legal expertise to private and commercial clients, with offices in Crewkerne, Dorchester, Parkstone, Poole, Southbourne, Swanage and Wareham. The firm also has consulting rooms in Wimborne and London.
