Humphries Kirk solicitors donates £700 to Canine Partners

Dorset and Somerset solicitors firm Humphries Kirk donated £700 to charity Canine Partners to cover the entire cost of its fundraising event on Wednesday May 14.

The ‘Demonstration of Canine Partners Assistance Dogs’ event took place at the historical Melbury House, Melbury Sampford, near Evershot and included an auction, raffle, dinner and a dance.

Katharine Jones, partner at Humphries Kirk, said: “We were more than delighted to sponsor and support Canine Partners. The dogs are remarkable and enable disabled people to enjoy greater independence and a better quality of life.’’

The inspirational dogs showcased their skills in demonstrations with their partners which included opening and shutting doors, picking up dropped items and pressing buttons.

Lord Jimmy Zouche, at Canine Partners, said: “We are extremely grateful to the staff at Humphries Kirk for their generous donation. Without the funds, we would not have been able to hold the event. By having the event in at Melbury House, we hoped to have raised further awareness about the cause to those living in the South West.”

Humphries Kirk provides legal expertise to private and commercial clients, with offices in Parkstone, Poole, Bournemouth, Dorchester, Crewkerne, Swanage and Wareham. The firm also has consulting rooms in Yeovil and London.
