Humphries Kirk solicitors have the ‘will’ to raise cash

| Published on July 15, 2015

Dorset and Somerset solicitors firm Humphries Kirk participated in Lewis-Manning Hospice’s Make a Will Fortnight (Monday June 8 to Friday June 19) by offering a free will writing service in return for a donation to the charity.

Simon Cross, partner at Humphries Kirk said: “We’re delighted with the response to the hospice’s Make a Will Fortnight so far, and we hope to have helped raise donations for the wonderful local hospice.

He added: “Having a will in place ensures your family, friends and any charities you care about are provided for in the way you wish.

The campaign was set up to not only raise funds for the charity, but to raise awareness about the importance of leaving gifts in wills. Sally Goodenough, legacies fundraiser at Lewis-Manning Hospice, said: “Writing a Will brings security and peace of mind, not just to you but also to your loved ones. If you need to write your Will or update your current one, taking part in Make a Will Fortnight will mean you’re also helping Lewis-Manning at the same time.

In addition to our day services, we also recently began the phased opening our bedrooms, offering short overnight and respite stays, vastly benefiting the growing number of patients and carers that rely on us for the help at a particularly distressing time. All our care and support is free, so we hope people take up this great opportunity to write a will and help raise vital funds for the hospice.”
