Graduating with a Bachelor of Laws degree and Legal Practice Course from Cardiff University, Michelle joined Humphries Kirk as a trainee in 2007, qualifying in 2009 into the Construction Law Team.
She advises both individuals and businesses on contentious and non-contentious construction as well as property related disputes. Michelle’s work benefits a range of clients including: contractors, sub-contractors, employers, developers, surveyors, architects, engineers, interior designers and home-owners/consumers.
Michelle works on a range of highly technical and complex disputes including: defective workmanship/materials, professional negligence, payment disputes, delay claims, debt recovery, as well as advising and negotiating contract documents including standard form contracts e.g. the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT).
Outside of work her interests include experimental cooking, music and films. She is also a published poet, spending much of her leisure time writing new material or drawing inspiration from a range of sources – from the people and events around her to walks on Sandbanks beach.
And her single most important piece of professional advice? Two simple words: “Document everything.”
Michelle was a finalist in ‘Professional of the Year’ at this year’s Dorset Venus Awards. This category is sponsored by Ash Elite and honours highly qualified women who excel in their professional occupation.
